You guys ha ve convinced me that I need to replace the old R-12 expansion valve in mine with one calibrated for R-134a. It did work reasonably well with Envirosafe in it though. I have a Sanden compressor, parallel flow condensor, universal drier, original 63 stuff inside. Had barrier hoses made to connect all the flare and o-ring stuff together (flare just on the evaporator). I have 134A in it now, but it wasn't charged properly. Didn't have a vacuum pulled. I have been thinking just taking it to a shop and having it properly vacuumed and refilled would improve it enough, but may as well replace that old expansion valve.

In my area more people have it for sale than people who will buy it.
