hi, new nuts/jamnuts are available from Speedway, if you can't find any locally. 11/16, thread. fine. When I redid my 84 Eagle, had the strutrods out, and to remove the nuts, put them in a HUGE bench vise, they were so stuck I actually broke the vise! I kid you not! Also had to purchase that oddball thread die, again 11/16, fine, to clean 'em up. All is good. good luck, gz

I just use one of the thin cut off wheels on the grinder and cut the nut.

you;re not kidding. its one of those utterly maddening AMC parts.  it's like there's no way to tellw aht is in there vs. what supposed to be in there. 'top of the pile'. we kept getting, and returning, strut rods that everyone said was the right part, all these tiny and large variations.

I forgot all about the magic juice we used when I was an air balancer, I soaked it down with some Kroil that we used to free up fan shieves and bushings, put a wrench to it this morning and the nut loosened up. The threads on the strut arm needed some wire brushing but that was it. I will head up and get an aliengment and be done with it. Thanks AgainBig smile
