How do you get the heater core out of a 64 American ??? do you tear the whole heater box under the dash out ?????

Yes. Although I suggest you remove the correct nuts and screws rather than tear it all out. A TSM I has the correct procedure.

remove the nuts from under the hood by the blower motor then go under the dash remove the glove box and you will see every thing that need to be removed under there duct work and cables

Thanks guys got the core out without ripping everything up !! Now to get fixed and put back in! Still have Gettysburg on my mind!

If you don't get it back in just loop the heater hose and go! Shouldn't need heat in the summer...

Yes Frank already did that and drove it to Rhinebeck,NY Goodguys show !! 600 plus miles ! Just wanted to have it fixed for Gettysburg.
