Geeze, i don't bother with colors, as I am color blind. Ha!

Well I have seen various color solenoids that work on AMC cars. Black, Blue, Red, Beige or Green. As long as the base is ground, then there is a good chance it will work. Though the S terminal must be connected to 12v from the starter switch for starting, to activate the solenoid, and give power to the coil directly for hotter spark through I terminal. Without ground at the solenoid base, or as ford has it ground at the chin wiser terminal pin, or where the I terminal is located on AMC starter solenoids.
