Remember in the movie Patton when the oxcart was blocking the bridge?

(cut the lip off and proceed)

Good advice, amcenthusiast. Lip cut, engine placement being mocked up. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. But boy is it tight. Need to move one of my brake lines I just installed across firewall for my Wilwood kit. It's not touching but just want it up and out of the way. Also need to notch and modify my transmission cross member to receive Speedo cable on the 904 and other general fitment stuff.

Ollie, I guess I shouldn't be surprised what is found (or not found) on these old cars. I didn't make reservations for the Nevada gathering. But I may make the cruise so I can meet some of my Forum acquaintances and check out the cool cars. Cross my fingers the car is ready and performing well. Sounds like AMC fun!

that doesnt jive.   1964 Americans have the 196.  your mounts are supposed to fit on 199-232-258 mounts. which didnt come out until 1965.   or am I missing something here?

LOL Yaaaaaaa.....aaand? Look he is grinding. Wasn't a drop in. TongueLOL  Tom...that does it man. ..

I sure was surprised during the first engine overhaul in my 1966 American that the complete drive train was changed to a 1968. Engine, trans and rear end was all 1968. Its amazing !! Sure pays to decode stuff before you start buying parts and slinging wrenches.

Matt, are you planning on attending the Nov AMC event at Hoover Dam Lodge? We are.

Having AMC Fun,
Ollie

I always wanted to see the Hoover Dam. It would be fun to be hollered at by a new group of AMC'ers. Maybe take the whole family. When is the show?
