Updated January 26, 2019.
More information that I understand may help someone from making a second set.  I apologize if someone drilled too many full size 7/16 holes and did not tap the center four holes.
ProstockTom posted this on January 26, 2019 on another thread about Hornet drop plates.

Thanks Tom.

Here the link that has the blueprint in it. http://theamcforum.com/forum/70-amx-front-lowering-plt_topic86587.html
It should be noted that the center 4 holes are tapped. Not just the two indicated on the drawing. You can also increase the amount of drop if you put more distance between the two rows of tapped holes. There is really a lot of information if you look around. Hemmings ran a great article on it.  http://www.hemmings.com/blog/2011/12/13/project-hmx-gettin-low/

Also this link will take you to a post that has photos showing the four center holes tapped.

And lots more information.

Thanks all,

Armand

IIRC, this plate drops the front one and one half inches.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but could someone elaborate on how this is done?

Question about front lowering plate:

-Will this plate work on 68, 69, and 70 AMXs?

-What is the thickness of the plate?

-What is the vertical spacing between holes?

-Is there a vendor who sells the front lowering plates?

Thickness of plate is generally 3/8" cold-rolled mild steel. Use 1/2" if you like. Take the spindles and brake brackets/backing plates off the steering knuckle. Bolt the plate on using the lower bolt holes, bolt the brakes and spindle on using the upper set. Vertical distance is the measurements on the left. They are from bottom of plate to center of hole. I don't know of anyone making the plates for sale.

You can also make a six hole plate, where the center two are shared -- top of steering knuckle, bottom of spindle. That's a 2.5" drop. Could interfere with brake and other suspension clearances, not sure. The 1.5" drop plates have worked with everything so far, including two seater AMXs.

Do the lowering plates move the wheels out more or closer to the front fenders thereby creating a wider track?

Yes these lowering plates will move the wheel further away from the center line of the car by whatever distance the plate is thick.
Farna says 3/8 inch.
Others say use 1/2 plate.
So the 3/8 plates would widen the track by 3/4 inch.
the 1/2 plates would widen the track one inch.
Yes the outside of the tire will be that distance closer to the fender lip, as well as one and one half inch further up into the wheel well..
