Hi : I have a Rambler six 1960 3 spd  transmission in-line six. The car has a conversion shifter system that is clumsy and useless. I need the original parts such as the steering column shift rods and levers that go to the transmission.I think it is a Borg Warner t96.I will buy them  Thank you   \.

I have a 1962 Column with a shifter that worked perfectly.  I'm not sure I can find the shift rods that go to the transmission but I will look for them tomorrow.  Joe

Just remember not to down-shift that trans into first when moving. It's not a particularly tough transmission, but when used in a cruiser and moderately driven it's fine. That down-shift into first will kill it before anything else. No synchro in first because first is only intended to get the car moving, not to slow it down! That was common back in the day, all late 50s and most early 60s trannys don't have a synchro in first. We've been spoiled by modern all synchro trannys.
