The factory offset the V8 engine to the passenger's side for steering clearance. If fabbing mounts, keep that in mind.

Located usually near Rochester, NY and sometimes central FL.

Bolt the tubing to the V-8 mounts, drill and tap for a 3/8" fine thread bolt to go up through the original 196 motor mount holes in the crossmember. The V-8 position would be slightly different than the six. You need to lower engine in place and determine thickness (height above crossmember) as well. Leave 1/4" between pan and crossmember, and remember that the mounts will settle some (leave 3/8 - 1/2") between pan and CM with no weight on mounts).

Hear is a good pic of my mount:

Sits right on top of the CM with the six, will be offset to the rear on a V-8. You might need to use a wider piece of rectangular tubing to get the proper offset.

We are just about to forge new AMC V8 crankshafts.. please check here
