One thing I forgot to ask the OP on this. You stated you have a blackstone original radiator that is in good shape now. Is it not keeping the motor cool enough currently? I ask because if it is a two core and not keeping things cool you may or may not be able to stay cool with the aluminum 3-core unit I just can't comment on that as I have no experience with the 2 or 3 core Champion units. Prior to my current build I had a 360 on 93 octane making an estimated 450HP at the flywheel and I ran the two row blackstone that came stock (auto trans as well using the integrated cooler with a 2500 stall converter) and I never had an issue staying cool. This was running a stock belt drive flex fan and stock shroud but I could idle, cruise or go light to light in 90-100 degree weather and never get above 190-195. That being said, I can't comment on the capability of the 2 or 3 row Champion units as they compare to the stock radiator and if the stock is keeping you cool enough why replace it? I would not have gone aluminum if my stock unit would have cooled my current motor.

I have the four-row and it's a little tight at the bottom, but there's a part of the adge that can be trimmed off to make it fit without spacers, also, the top is too think (front to back) for the factory filler panel, but I'm gonna make a new one. I also am running the Contour and it's tight but it fits.

I have 2-row Champion radiators in my AMX and the X-car.  Both with 390 engines.  Both cars had a tendency to run hot.  Now both cars run 180 degrees with 180 thermostats as they should.  Both cars have factory fan shourds.  I would be susprised if a 50 year old radiator is not a little stopped up.  Thinking about having my original radiators re-cored and put up.  They don't make them any more.Big smile

Call Jeff at lead foot racing, he sells many radiators ships them fromore cali fast. He spent 30 minutes with me on the phone answering all my questions and sold me a radiator that is really sollid and comes with a life time warranty. It's also pretty tested.

I highly recommend, save your time just call Jeff at lead foot racing. I shoped and read specs for months, he set me up nicely with a better product than I was looking at for a good price. Jeff is the owner works a few hours a day, but will return your call if you leave him a message.

I got my champion from jeggs..feel better ordering from known source if any problems come up... better chance of them making things right if needed then ebay clowns.
Been very happy with my champion so far in 74 javelin. Fit correctly and hoses all lined up.

Be sure and don't order a Champion for a Hornet or Gremlin. The brackets are on the wrong side. Jeg's list part# CC407 as the correct fitment for a Hornet. If you go to Champion's website, they don't list a radiator for a Hornet. The 407 fits about everything else in the AMC line, but not Hornet or Gremlin. Well, I either send it back, or keep it as a spare for my AMX. On the plus side, it looks like a well built piece.
