Is it smart to replace the cheap rubber bushings with poly bushings for mounting shocks?
The rubber bushings that come with the shocks these days must be made in China.... Has anybody tried this? What were your results? Thanks |

I haven't tried it, but my 2 cents on the subject is this. The Poly bushings have about zero deflection, great for a pivot point when well greased, but on a shock mount, I'd think they would transmit every pebble, crack or expansion joint directly from the lower control arm/rear shock mount right to the body. If autocross is your thing, it would provide for very precise shock control. For a driver, I think it would become obtrusive in a hurry. I use poly bushing in the trunnions and rear spring shackles but not on the upper or lower control arms for that very reason. Too much road information transmitted to the car.
