Does anyone have any written instructions on how to rebuild the '69 American trunnions?  I have both the '68 and '69 TSM's and neither one has a detailed procedure on how to do it.  In fact, other than the exploded view of the trunnion they don't have much of anything.

Roger,
I have a series of photos (with commentary) that I've sent to a couple of Forum members outlining the procedure I've used to rebuild trunnions. I've now done 5 sets for myself and family members, so far, no lawsuits! I only use poly replacement bushings, but the disassembly/reassembly process is the same whether rubber or poly. I also have a set of spring containment tools (like the GarryJav tool) that I made, I'll make you the same offer I make all Forum members. Free use of the tools if you send them back. Let me know if I can help. I are an eggspurt!

Terry,

I bought the spring tool from a forum member who could spare it so I am good there.  I'd appreciate the procedure though.  I'll PM you my email.  You are turning out to be the eggspurt!!

Hey guys new here to the forum and I am working on my 66 Ambassador. I am looking to buy or rent the spring compressor tool and also need to find some information regarding the removal of the needle bearings in the trunnion and replacement I have the passenger side totally dissembled at the moment.

there is no procedure in the TSM because they never sold parts to rebuild them- only a complete trunnion assy.  Same with the upper control arms; these were a ~$3 part at the time.

TX390AMX has sent me the first batch of photos documenting a trunnion rebuild.  Can't wait to get it all.  From what I've seen so far, with a little verbiage and page numbers his work would be the procedure!
