Does anyone know if the bar that goes from the brake booster bracket through the firewall to the brake pedal is that same length on automatic and 4 speed cars? I bought the bracket and rod here on the forum. I installed it yesterday, and the pedal doesn't seem to be going back far enough to reach the stop light switch. My car is an automatic car.

Mike,
As far as I know auto vs. 4-speed should not matter. With that said, the brake switch is adjustable and it doesn't take that much pressure to move the brake switch, the little clip that holds the adjustment length can move very easy.  First, see if you can adjust , & replace the clip (2nd photo) with two nuts as in this example

Second, it is possible to have an  incorrect brake booster bracket. The pedals on a 68-69 Javelin/AMX are different than on a 70-74 Javelin/AMX. I am not sure about the booster bracket hook-up for this difference, but, if you purchased a small body car booster bracket or later year AMC bracket, it is possible to have the problem that you described ( IE, the wrong booster bracket)
