AMC 401 to chrysler thanny

Is there a way to adapt an AMC 401 with a 3 bolt flex plate to a 4 bolt Chrysler torque converter? thanks ralph

A three bolt flex plate tells me that the 401 came from a jeep with a turbo 400. You should be able to buy a 401 flex plate for a 70s passenger car with a 401, I would have it match balanced to the original flex plate. If your engine originally had a turbo 400 mounted to it there should be a thin spacer in the back of the crank shaft that needs to be removed for the 727 to fit.

Roger, you nailed it. The 401 came from a 72 waggy with a turbo 400. Yep the spacer/shim was there inside the hole in the crankshaft. I would use the turbo 400 except I already used it in another Jeep. I will look for another flex plate    thanks a lot
