 I've used .22 and .17 caliber brass gun cleaning brushes to clean the inside of spark plug terminals.

Depress the tab that holds the terminal(metal blade or whatever shape) inside the connector(plastic part that houses the terminals) take the wire/terminal out. Clean the terminal with soft wire brush. Clean connector with "Purple Power" and Q-tip. Reinstall wire/terminals back into connector.

Done...
