Anyone had damaged trim rings successfully restored?

Any contacts or referrals would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Typically not!  The way most trim rings are made ( 2 parts) in order to dismantle, repair the outer ring and try to in reinstall the inner ring or the reinforcement is not economically worth it. Also the way the other ring is made, access to the underside of the outer edge is all but impossible even with fine angled tools. Access is limited at best, which if course becomes prohibitive for access to repair. The cost to do all that work and the small success rate of reassembly, you best bet is a another set of rings!

I guess it would depend on the damage you want to have repaired. If you can get to the back of trim ring where the damage is  it can be worked like a dent in a fender then polished. If the damage is typical curb rash getting to the back as has been pointed out would be problematic. Light damage maybe able to be block sanded then polished. There are books on trim restoration I would buy one and try it yourself.

I've taken the inner attaching ring out and off before. Not that hard. Do the repair and put it back. Worst part is deep scratches. Have to get to the bottom of them. Can get a bit thin and easy to cut through.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll study it harder and see if maybe I can do something with what I have. But they do have some deep scratches and dented spots on the outer rings.

I'd rather just buy a couple replacements if anyone is willing to part with any?

I know its a big ask, but if it makes a difference, they would be replacing 2 that got damaged recently when a distracted driver ran me up on a curb recently. Mine were nearly perfect before that happened - it makes me sick.
