Bouncing is normal.
You are seeing the pulsing of the gear oil pump! Aftermarket gauges are not usually buffered to eliminate rapid movement. It should smooth out as speed increases. |

The very first step in diagnosing what you've described is to cut open the oil filter to check for medal debris. Empty the contents in a pan and go over the filter pleats and contents in the pan with a magnet. Then inspect the oil in the pan out in the sunlight for fine sparkling medal particles that aren't magnetic. SKeown
