My parking brake handle is cracked and I'm afraid it will pull off once I start using the car. (1978 Gremlin). I have ordered and just received a new one from Galvin's, and have yet to install. Basic question is do these just thread on? I haven't tried removing the old one yet and it's been quite some time since I pulled one off a parts car.

IIRC there is a pin holding it on. Take a good look at the base of the old one, you should find the pin. Don't recall if it's a tapered pin that only goes in/out one way or a roll pin that expands. A roll pin is hollow, tapered pin will be solid. Might not be much taper, hard to tell which end is smaller. The larger end SHOULD be at the "top" with the handle in its normal position.
