Hello all,
I have a 1968 AMC AMX, Blazer Blue with a 343 4 speed, and she currently looks a little sad with a broken antenna. the base seems fine but the mast is broken off. Could you please confirm for me if the ebay item and part number listed below are identical to what came from factory? If anyone has installed or fix theirs with this part or something similar please share your tips and pics if you have any. Not sure about the 68, but the 69 AMX mast was not removable, so there is no way to repair it and have it look exactly original. I waited and finally found a complete NOS antenna for around $80. There were some advertised in the "For Sale" section here within the last couple days, though I think the asking price was a bit more than what I paid. 68-70 AMX and Javelin uses the same antenna and NOT the one in your pic. Like CamJam is saying above, the mast does not come off the base. $80 would be a VERY good deal for a correct antenna. Many of the antenna's for these years have a common mast, but the base has is special for each body style car, which sets the mast at the proper angle.....also the antenna lead can be different lengths, but that can be fixed with an extension.

Exact repops used to be available from the AMC vendors.
A quick search of American parts Depot resulted with a no show. Try posting in the wanted section, someone may have an extra laying around. |
