I was researching for a non electric good quality torque wrench for his "ricer"....haha

I noticed a lot of CDI tools being advertised so I plunged into my paranoid, WTF is this mode. Wink

After reading several different sights I stumbled on the fact that the CDI Torque Wrench is a SNAP ON product at half the price!

I bought him one straight from Amazon in case he didn't like it. I liked it a lot, nicely laid out feels good seems to match torque with my Old top of the Line Snap On torque wrench.

The one I bought him does 50#-250#.
There is a paper in the box that states " a product of Snap On.
Box states made in USA.

Need a good torque wrench and don't want plastic, damn it my batteries are dead plastic?
Give the CDI a try and let us know what you think off it.

I'd buy a 3/8 and 1/2 for me if I didn't already have the Snap on pieces from 1987.

The price on the one I bought was right around $150.

Amazon will take it back if you are not happy. win-win. I think

I have a bunch of CDI from 1/4 to 1/2" and they're nice.  I believe that snap on bought them relatively recently.  I'm betting 98% here would not pay more than harbor freight price but good for you  LOL

I not so sure a HF torque wrench would even be good enough for lug nuts.

One of my co-workers bought one.  We tested it,  not only was it off, from 2 other torque wrenches, but it wouldn't repeat the same error.

If a torque wrench is off a certain %, or lbs.  and you know it, it's still useable.  But this wrench would vary, totally not useable.

I would never buy an electronic one. I mean, what the #ell do you do if you have to look for batteries?

I think I paid somewhere in the $300 range for the Snap On pair back in the mid 80's

If anyone here thinks $150 is too much for a good torque wrench I don't want an engine they built LOL

I have one of those electronic digitals from Matco. It uses 4 AAA batteries, not really hard to find. But I do understand the concern about batteries, I have some diagnostic stuff that it is near impossible to find batteries readily available.
