Weather permitting we are going to a June cruise-in at Hemmings in Bennington VT during a trip to the northeast. Has anyone been to one before? We have all the info needed but just wondering what your experience was like, where you stayed, dined, etc...

A few years ago we were on our way to a show in CT and stayed over night in Bennington, VT so we could go to the cruise. It rained a little early that morning, but by midday it cleared up and was a beautiful afternoon and evening. We went to the cruise and they had cancelled due to rainy weather. I won't waste my time and money going there again. We stayed at a hotel nearby but I forgot which one. We usually stay at Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express and others in the price range, so it was probably one of them.
That said, if it is not out of your way, give it a try. Just be aware that if a cloud blows by in the morning they might cancel. Their store was fun to go to, but not worth going out of the way and spending money on a hotel to see.
The best part of the trip was when a kid in a tuner car went blasting past us, almost running a Trooper going the other way off the road. He turned around and chased the kid, along with another who came up from behind who might have been chasing him anyway. 20 miles down the road we saw his car, two Trooper cars and the kid in handcuffs up against his car.

I attended the cruise and the concourse show they held in 2010...AMX was a featured brand and there was about 6 that showed up.  It was at a ski resort near Burlington....don't recall the name.   The cruise was held on one day and the concourse show the next..... Very well done and got to meet the folks from Hemming s.  Only bad part was pulling the trailer and car up the mountain!  Here's a few pics... Chuck Page

Cruise day....

6768rogues, I really appreciate that info. They do warn you on the site that they cancel rather easily when the weather looks bad. Sorry you experienced that but appreciate your thoughts very much. If it looks like rain we'll just continue on and skip it. Hoping for the best though. Sounds like fun.
sidewinder, beautiful venue and nice photos.

We did attend the June 9th show and it was a really enjoyable evening, run by very professional people. We didn't win in the late Model Ford category but we enjoyed the museum, gas station, and the cruise-in itself. Highly recommend to anyone in the New England area or if visiting like us. Here's a few photos. Our white Mustang is shown in a few. Would have been fun to enter the Matador but our Canada & Maine trip was 4,600 miles.
