AMC CARS FOR SALE Section - Policies and Disclaimer:

                                                                4/15/2016

           ** Minimum 30 posts/points required to post a car for sale **

Car For Sale posts will be removed after 90 days

If your Car is sold or no longer available PLEASE update the add title as such so it can be removed.

Due to considerable growth in the forum membership and use of the “free” For Sale section, it has become necessary to provide a dedicated section for the sale of AMC cars.  Please be familiar with and abide by these rules and policies in all for sale posts and dealings.  Any violation of these rules and policies are subject to the post being removed and potentially additional actions being taken according to the forum general rules and policies.

Beginning immediately any forum member that has met the 30 post/point minimum will be allowed to post in this section.

Cars posted “for sale” must meet the following criteria

*AMC vehicles only. This means AMC cars, Jeep vehicles.
If it wasn't manufactured by American Motors Corp, or Jeep, whether post 1970 or pre-AMC days, it doesn't belong.

 * Complete vehicles only - street or strip, drivable, running or complete enough to be made running and drivable. Meaning engine and rest of drive-train is there, but engine may or may not run. Nothing that is missing engine or engine and transmission.

* No parts cars, No rolling chassis, no projects that are basket cases or missing major parts.

 Specific Rules for every post:

*ads that do not comply with rules and guidelines are subject to removal. The Forum Moderators will not mediate disputes and reserves the right to remove any post/posts that become disruptive.

Deliberate “bumping” of a for sale post may result in the post being deleted.

Stating “this car is still for sale” or simply posting the word “bump” are examples of “bumping”   (legitimate information updates or revisions will not be considered bumping)

* You MUST post your location or (if different) the location where the car is located with your ad or have your location in your profile (which shows up on the left of posts)

*You MUST post an asking price for any vehicle you are offering for sale. Posts that simply state “make an offer” or “what’s it worth” etc. will be removed.

NOTE:  if you need help pricing an vehicle you may need to do some research outside the forum ( E-bay?) or contact other forum members via the PM system for help.  Posting a “what’s it worth” question in any other section on the forum presumes a pending sale offer and will no longer be allowed. Any posts of this nature will be removed.

* Seller is to conduct initial business and all question and answer in the forum - Not via phone or email. We are providing an area for buyers to gain trust. If we are good enough for your free ad, and for you to make money off said free ad, we are good enough for the questions to be answered online in the sale thread.

Ads that say "I do not visit here often, call/email" or "I will only respond to email (or PM) may be subject to removal.

Once a buyer has decided to buy a car, then take exchange of final price or agreement, payment and address/phone offline.  However, until such an agreement is reached (someone has decided to follow through and make the purchase), discussion should remain in the thread.

*We HIGHLY suggest you not post personal phone numbers or complete email addresses in sale ads.  Use the PM option to exchange this information.

* No "Generic Discussion” or comments, positive or negative

This section is here for sellers to sell, buyers to buy, and folks to find or sell AMC vehicles only.
Casual discussion/comments Good or bad) such as stating “this car is not worth it!” or “What a great deal” will not be allowed.  Questions and replies between potential buyers and the seller should be conducted in the open forum.

* No- Hijacking  - if you don't have the minimum 30 posts/points required for posting in this sale area, then kindly wait your turn.
If you DO have the required 30 posts/points then please don't be lazy - start your own for sale thread.

~ Moderators, will at their discretion edit or remove posts that violate the no-hijacking rule. ~

*Disclaimer, other rules and guidelines :

TheAMCForum.com provides the Cars For Sale Section as a service to its members at no cost. Although we believe the large majority of Sellers who are Forum members are honest and legitimate, it is still the Buyer's sole responsibility to ask questions, verify the Seller's identity, ascertain contact information, availability of the vehicle listed for sale, etc. prior to entering into any sales transaction.

* Neither TheAMCForum.com, the Site Administrator, nor the Moderators accepts any responsibility or liability for scams, incorrect ad information, or "deals gone bad" for any reason whatsoever. All sales transactions are at the Buyer's sole risk.

TheAMCForum.com strongly suggests that Buyers check the online Membership Profile listed here on the Forum when dealing with any Seller. It is strongly suggested that sales transactions which are initiated with Sellers whose membership profiles are anonymous, and contain handles, first names only or questionable email contact info be handled with caution!

Know who the Seller is, know their contact information, and validate their credibility BEFORE you send payment or deposit for any vehicle!

* In the event you believe a Seller has misrepresented themselves, or if you have been scammed or ripped off, please send a PM to one of the Moderators for follow-up. TheAMCForum.com cannot provide restitution or mediate disputes in these instances. Sellers (and Buyers) who are deadbeat should be listed in the Cheers or Jeers section as a service to all Forum members.

 *** Special restricted items

* NO Titles, VIN plates/numbers without the entire car. These are not legal in all locations.
~Only vehicles legal in all 50 United States may be listed on TheAMCForum.com.~

* TheAMCForum.com, its Moderators and Administrators, reserve the right to reject any advertisement placed in this Section for any reason. All decisions of the Moderators/Administrators are final and are not negotiable.

Welcome to the Forum, Shannon!

The 30 post rule means that once a member has 30 'posts/points' (as in 30 entries on the Forum), they are free to use the For Sale section. We do that to keep out spammers, and also so that we can get to know (in a sense) a member who is offering a vehicle or parts for sale. (Hopefully that leads to better transactions and some small level of accountability.)

Since you managed to post a question in this section, that "30 rule" might not have been programmed into this new area! So, in my mind, until it is, feel free to post a For Sale ad.
