Very sad day when your town loses a drag strip. I remember when Bay Lands Raceway closed in Fremont, Ca. It was only ten miles from my house. It is now an Auto Mall. The Green Mamba & Red Wagon were my all-time favorites there.
Questions are powerful tools...what's in your toolbox?

I was by there this summer, stopped and took a picture. Cool looking old school track. Did not know they were closing.
