Has anyone rebuilt a t-10 trans? How hard would it be for a novice to rebuild? I do have some mechanical experience rebuilding engines and auto trans, but only rebuilt one manual 3 spd 40+ yrs ago with my Dad helping.
I have a rebuilt Ford t-10, will the parts or whole trans interchange?
How much is a reasonable cost to have one rebuilt at a pro shop?

From what I have seen posted of the AMC T10 only AMC T10 parts will work with it but could be wrong too.
I am also pretty sure there is no other tranys will swap in.
I would think if you rebuilt a Ford T10 then you could do an AMC T10.
The hard part is finding some parts you may need.

SK Speed shop out on L.I. NY is the go to for parts and can rebuild AMC T10's if you cant do it.

(He didn't say "I have rebuilt at Ford T-10" he said he had one that was rebuilt!)Wink

Try Kirkwood for advice, or for rebuilding. See his service under "Vendor Directory" below.
