Obviously the original carb was supplying a lean mixture. If it were me, I would start weaning it off the race fuel by topping off the tank with pump premium to see what develops. Again making sure the total advance didn't exceed 34* timing. Being you were supplied pictures of two different engines I would remove the intake to determine which one you actually have. If it has the internal auxiliary oil feed line then it likely has too much compression to operate on 92 octane gas, being that engine has the flat top pistons. SKeown
