You can make a V8 sound like a inline 6 or 8 if you use 180 Deg. headers or have a large single exhaust.

I ran a glass pack and a flowmaster 44 series on my 258. The Flowmaster had a deeper sound nice rumble. The glass pack was ok but sounded raspy at times. Go with a 40 or 44 series flowmaster.

You guys running the Flowmasters, what did you do about exhaust pipe diameter? The smallest Flowmaster I'm seeing is 2.25. Thoughts????

thanks!

2 adaptors from 2.25 to your size pipe and call it done.

Thumbs Up

What he said.
Inside my Eagle it's very quiet as far as engine but outside the sound is annoying, that higher pitch of the 4.0 out the tailpipe. I don't like it at all.
But it's stock exhaust and a will-fit replacement muffler so what can I say, I did it to myself.

I much prefer low notes, I even tweak my stereos to filter out the highs just a bit. It lost me some contests.......... but I liked the sound so I didn't really care that  I kept coming in second.

Give me a low exhaust tone over an annoying ying ying ying of a high pitched anything.
I even bought a 4 stroke trimmer as I didn't like the pitch of a 2 stroker in my ears while trimming the lawn.

I've got that running back from the Clifford through a y-pipe into a single in/out Flowmaster.  If I remember correctly, they did a 2.5 inch tailpipe to make it an awesome resonator. angled toward the ground at the back.  Might be 2.25 all the way, can't recall right now.  Love the sound, but I don't spend a lot of time listening to radio anyway.
