Yes, it's in the right way.

OK, made progress today. Put the old clutch in that came with the engine and it works fine. Then tried every combination of the new and old clutch parts= no combination using the new parts worked. So, I guess I have the wrong clutch kit. Actually 2 wrong clutch kits since I had a 304 kit left over from another project. Problem is, I can't figure out what clutch kit to buy since I don't know what kind of AMC car or truck it came from. The number on the disc is PHT D556 and the PP is PHT C1647. In searching the web, it looks like PHT is "Brute Power" from AutoZone. The AutoZone website showed the D556 disc, but not the C1647 PP. This is a made in China piece and I hope I can find a better quality part then this.
Getting closer.

No, it is the 3 finger design. We checked every dimension we could on the old and new clutch and couldn't find any major difference.
I ordered this one from Summit for a 360 (304 was a different P/N). Hopefully this will get my 360 CJ7 on the road for the first time.

Success at last!!! Just to close out this thread in the event someone else runs into a similar problem, the Ram clutch from Summit in my previous post is correct for the 360. A 304 clutch will not work. At least not in a Jeep CJ7.
Thanks to all who offered suggestions, it was very helpful.

Good to see. So I guess the input was 1-1/8 not 1-1/16. that would have made it a whole lot simpler . just get a clutch for a Wagoneer.
" It looks like the T-176 trans I have is from a 304 CJ and has 1 1/16" input shaft where the 360 clutch is for a 1 1/8" shaft. Can I use the 10 3/8 disc with the 11" PP? Getting complicated now. "
and if it is a 1-1/16 input shaft don't plan on it lasting long .
