IMO 291C's are great for building a motor with Diesel compression.
I used em on a 1970 390. Nothing wrong with them
and the flow difference between different large valve dog leg heads is nill.
But if you are doing a rebuild with new pistons I would buy a set of turn key heads
from http://www.aeroheadracing.com/amc.html for $600 and forget about the hassles.

291C heads are better off being cashed in to a late model 360 owner that wants
to bump his or her compression up without tearing down the motor.

I got a nice set of free flow manifolds, that had no air pollution holes, just the undrilled bosses, at a local junkyard.  Today I finished getting the brokenstuds out of the flanges.  Do I have to reuse the exhaust flapper or can I just have the bender start the exhaust from the manifold flange? Thanks.

Just have him bend from the flange.
