Wondering if anyone would have any information that specs out the right rear leaf spring application that the 69 SS AMX cars would have used.
I am trying to lift my rear about 2 inches for tire clearance and the stock spring seems to bind adding shackles for the additional length.
Could be binding on the stock factory traction bars but by lifting the rear the spring binds so it seems.
Going to pull wheels off check the traction bars maybe unhook add air shocks to get the car sitting right.
The stock rear spring main seems to be almost saged backwards not good.
ANy help to the proper rear spring to beef up the stance of the car would be appreciated.
Thanks

AMX springs are dearched to straight for handling.
The traction bars can be adjusted.
Unless it's a race car i'd get shorter tires/different wheels The factory did a great job
getting X's to handle.

If you want more nose down attitude, think about a re arch of existing springs or ordering a new set. Several manufacturers (I used Eaton) can add 1 or 2 inches of ride height to stock. Many here advise against using air shocks as they can punch through the upper mount which is apparently weak. No experience in that regard, but have read it here several times. Good luck.

My two cents. Doing my cars in 80"s old school spring guys. Talk me into arc spring. About 2 inchs of arc. Then add leaf good thick leaf eye to eye on spring. Help hold in up. After arc the springs. And keep it from wheels hopping. Depending on torque rap of the spring. And when the leaf goes flat during launch it snap car forward. When goes back shape. Did this on couple cars over years. Works great. I look threw articles back then. Was like old school thing. So didn't use shackles jack it up. My SC/Rambler had 8 inch shackles. Hold it up. Was horrible looking. Did same thing to that and launches great and has lot less body roll in corner.
