I dont believe that.   All the Rangers Ive fooled with had mazda, and mitsubushi. And early ones had 4 spds. All the 5 spds. Were mazda and mitsu. Ive been around ALOT of Ford trucks, never seen any with a factory installed T5.    The full size were mazda, and ZF. (Depending on engines, and if a 150, or 250 and heavier)

It was a Canadian model (I lived there at the time) and I wasn't the original owner, so it may have been swapped in with a Mustang bell. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/InterchangingTansmissions.html
