Was talking with a friend about pinion snubbers and that got me wondering if anyone makes or if someone has fabricated their own.
We're not allowed to use any type of traction bars in the class we race, but we can use a snubber.

What rear end are you using? If it's the AMC 15/20 how you going to attach it as the AMC housing does not have a front bolt in pinion support.

Now you may not be able to use bars do they have rules on leaf springs?
Look up MOPAR S/S rear drag springs.

Its a AMC 20 and I know there isn't any front bolt, but was hoping someone more creative than I, may have come up with something.

I think it would be fairly simple to fabricate an adjustable pinion snubber on the chassis of the car (not on the axle) with a polyurethane bump stop that hits the top of the diff housing. I designed one like that for Edelbrock to fit the late model Mustang. It worked really well!

Never gave that a thought
He did not say what type of racing he is doing and if he needs to work on suspension/spring rates he could fit everything with new springs.

Have you tried to clamp the front of the leaf springs?

Here is some more information. '71 Hornet that we will be racing in the "Pure" Stock drag races. Haven't raced this car yet, but when we raced the SC/ all we did was clamp the springs and there was very little wheel hop.

We did think about mounting the snubber onto the chassis like Dennis mentioned.

Dennis did you mount the snubber onto a plate and then bolt the plate to the chassis? Something like that might work.

Yep, that's pretty much it, nothing tricky at all!!

Another option would be to use a thick (heavy duty truck type)"add a leaf" on the front half of the leaf springs. You will have to cut the add a leaf your self.
