Have you checked your rear servo O-ring yet?

You'll just have to look at the bands. If they show much wear at all replace them while the trans is apart. Seems like you mentioned this trans was built not long ago -- based on that I'd say the bands are probably good, unless a servo got stuck and the band was dragging a lot...

I finished rebuilding the tranny, got ready to test the car for the first time last night, and there's no movement at all. I can say with confidence that all O-rings in the transmission are good. The rear clutch pack was FRIED, and the 2nd oil seal ring on the sun shaft was broken. Otherwise, there wasn't any damage or torn O-rings that I found. I still replaced everything. The bands are good.

Now I'm at a total loss as to what this problem is. The only thing that I haven't touched is the torque converter. Anybody ever seen the TC be the cause of total transmission failure?

More than likely something is stuck in the valve body. Take it out and thoroughly clean, and blow out all passages.

The TC could cause a failure, but it would have to be totally seized up to not work at all.

I'll try that again this weekend. I'll run get an air hose attachment that'll work for the passages.
