Go to page one of this thread and look at the modified heads, same thing but on the intake.

One thing I would like to add. don't forget to remove the heat riser on the right side exhaust manifold.
yes most are using headers where this is not a concern but some are still using stock manifolds .

And plug the holes used for the pivot on the valve :-)

Had a special intake(428 PI) that the heat crossover had burnt through. On that one I blocked the intake only and was going to fill the passage with block fill if that did not work. It did work.

I prefer to block the head, and I like to use at least 3/16 steel plate.
I have blocked the manifold using 3/8 thick Aluminum.
 
If you have an Iron manifold, use Iron or Steel.
Same for heads, Iron or Steel for Iron heads, Aluminum for Aluminum.
 
If you use a shim gasket block it will burn through.
Honestly I do not understand why they sell those gasket block offs.
they fail eventually.
