Well, building an entirely new spring tower and lower crossmember is definitely the hard way, but with a lot of pre planning it would be easier to get the geometry just right. I'd use the AMC lower arm and strut rod and just mod the top of the existing spring tower, or make a bolt-in insert if the top of the tower needs to be lower -- though just cutting the top of the tower down and making a new top might be a better way to handle that issue (if it even is an issue...).
