I am changing out the carpet on my 1965 ambassador.  It has a console and twin stick shifter.  Anyone know if the shifter knobs are removable so I can take the consile out-do not want to damage anything.  Thanks, Dean

Yes, they just screw off. On the gear shift, be very careful of the kick down switch button parts! They are made of unobtainium. Maybe take a note or pictures so you can get everything back together correctly.
