1960 Rambler American 6, came with a two piece rubber floor covering instead of carpet. Can this be purchased or am I going to replace with carpet kit?

I believe this question was asked concerning some of the other "low end" models (American 220, Classic 550, etc)and I don't think anyone found replacement rubber flooring.

Are you building a show car or do you like rubber?
Look at modern pickup trucks.  Many had rubber flooring. Go to the PULL AND PAY and get one.
Cut it down to fit.  Many have insulation underneath.

Restoration Specialties sells various types of rubber matting, which you could theoretically cut and fit I think.  But the molded rubber floors for Ramblers are very scarce now.  I have seen maybe one or two various floors for Ramblers on Ebay in the last few years, but that's all.   My 62 Classic wagon still has it's rubber floor in front but I replaced the rear portion which had degraded with the rear half of a carpet kit.  Joe

I have over 37 vintage rides, most are originals, not street rods. All are in show room condition, and I was intending on this Rambler being the same. Hence the rubber matting. If it doesn't affect the value, carpet is fine with me, and can be bought in a pre-cut kit.

That's great, however your car is 14yrs newer than mine. Mine is hard and brittle, and has already created a large void in driver's floor and hump.
