I have a 70 javelin SST that the Bendix 4 piston calliper. I found a donor from a 74 AMX, took his spindles and rotors bought new one piston calliper and put the whole on the javelin.. He now needs new rotors. Here is where it gets confusing... Most stores dont have a listing for 74 rotors... When I tried using a rotor from a 77 hornet amx it didn't fit... the rotor from the hornet was a hair to big...everything I see says it should fit.. how do I know which Rotor to order?what am I forgetting ??

That is because 77 uses different rotors. You have Kelsey Hayes Pin type calipers yes?

You want RAYBESTOS Part # 3500R

You'll need rotors from a 71 to early 74 AMC, Kelsey Hayes brakes. The later ones are different, as you've found. The later ones are Bendix brakes. Check with the AMC vendors such as Kennedy American.

These are tough rotors to find and will be fairly pricey. If you can find them (with the hub) for $150 each new, buy them!
74 Hornet Hatchback X twins (since 1977)
62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

Sounds like you should stick with the originals for that amount. I paid 75 for both of my 1970 style rotors. 30 for pads.

Amazon seems to have them for $91/each and free shipping.
Look for Raybestos 3500R.

I just bought them from Amazon. They are just as Ramblinrev described at that price with free shipping. I looked extensively and that price is far below other vendors and they arrived quickly. Go to Amazon, put Raybestos 3500R in their search box, and they will come up. Only 17 left in stock.
Amazon also has the wheel bearings and you need the following (put these descriptors in the Amazon search box):
Two of these: Timken Set 2 (bearings)
Two of these: Timken Set 6 (bearings)
Two of these: Timken 7022S (grease seals)
If you need calipers you will need:
One caliper: Raybestos FRC4030
Other caliper: Raybestos FRC4029
Pads one pack does both sides: ACDelco 17D39M
I recently bought all the above from Amazon and now that it is assembled I can assure you that they are the correct parts for Kelsey Hayes brakes.
There are also specific brake hoses but I bought them from Rockauto because they were on sale cheap.
