Wow! That turned out really nice. I didn't have the transmission in the car when I did mine, so I wasn't 100% sure it would hit, but it seemed pretty low. Turns out it would have, so I'm glad I put it up top. I wish it would have fit like yours. Looks great.

Thanks guys - it took quite a bit of fiddling around and trimming to get it to fit. I'll take some better pics of it and post them so people have a good reference point if they want to do it in the future. I cut a little more material out of the stock floor hump plate than was really needed, but then added some metal back in to stiffen it up. I love my welder.

After all that I actually decided to go with a T5, so the cool shifter will have to go on the classifieds. If we still had a drag strip I'd keep it for sure - ratchet shifters are really nice.

OK here's some more pics of how this goes together for the people who may want to do this. I took these when I was mocking it all up before final welding and paint.

I ground a slot in the front of it, and the floor of the car slides into the slot. That way I didn't have to cut any floor.

Looks like it fits a lot better than I thought it did. Now I'm wanting to pull mine out and look at redoing it! Nice work!

Here's some pics of it all done with some reference dimensions.

From the center of the rear mounting hole to the side of the shifter mechanism plate is 7/8".

From the center of the front console pin to the side of the shifter mechanism is 2-1/2".

From the top of the front of the mounting plate down to the bottom of the mounting tab on the shifter mechanism is 5/16".

We've gotta have an LED shift indicator too. Positive is constant, and each green wire is grounded via the switch contacts in the shifter.

Here's a YouTube video so you can see the travel of the shifter.
