Low Fuel was part of the Light Group. It definitely was not a standard item.

So....my 70 Gopack car is bare bones 390 4 gear. No power steering no AC no anything but red leather. The fuel guage does not have a low fuel warning light but given the above talk would my regulator just control the temp? Or was it a different cluster in which IVR did both temp and fuel? I might just get a new IVR along with relamping it while I have it out.

I believe the IVR controls both gauges on the non-low-fuel clusters....same cluster, though.

The CVR on all AMX & Javelin (someother models too) without Low Fuel Warning controls both Water Temp and Fuel gauges....

I'm with Paul on this one. I remember the low fuel warning light being in the Light Group when I ordered my 70 AMX.

I am with you on this that the IVR does do both gauges with or with out low level light.
The power from the IVR is re-routed (plastic washers)to feed thru the low light relay.
To test this use a test light on the wire at the sender, if it blinks the IVR is why.

As nice as the low level light is my fuel gauge would not read right when it was in place. My fix was custom gauges from speedhut.com
