The wire was pinched during install. Make sure the little wire clip is there and the wire is routed so it can't rub or get pinched.

Hello. Might be some help. The Borg-Warner 35 auto box was used in London taxis ( FX4) until about 1986 then when a larger Diesel engine was fitted we had the Borg-Warner 65. Therefore some cab repair shops in London may still have new(old stock) parts. If you don't get any joy sourcing in the States let me know and I will make a few enquiries here. It's something I might need in the future for my '71 Ambassador. See. "Only one in the world" blog. The big problem we had with this box was overheating. Then coolers were fitted. That made all the difference. I don't know if coolers are fitted to your model but if it's a daily driver it's really worth it. The other thing I did was service it about every 35000 miles, fluid change, filter clean/change and bands adjusted. Also add a tin of Wynn's Auto gearbox/power steering conditioner. Also have a word with your mechanic about changing fluid to Dexron III. make sure you clean the magnet in the sump. Fred

Sorry it took so long for me to complete this thread. Success, I replaced the downshift solenoid in the transmission and it works like a charm!! Got it from Northwest transmission. Thanks again for the help!
