24 Hours of Lemons 3/22-23 Sonoma

So we learned a few things about this car this weekend.

1. Needs more power! I am looking for a 2 barrel intake plate, carb, and air cleaner assembly for it. I want to keep it all AMC if possible without aftermarket stuff, so if you got any of these shoot me a message. I can buy a remanufactured carb, that is fine with me, but in order to keep it looking stock I will need the stock air cleaner.

2. I am going to put a new exhaust with a cherry bomb or glasspack on it, because it is way to quiet for a race car.

3. I am having all the control arms for the front suspension boxed, going to put some real springs on it, and figure out a sway bar.

4. I have got to get rid of that overdrive tranny so we can put a floor shifter in it, the column mechanism is totally shot. Will trade my "lightly used" setup straight across for your "lightly used" trans. Will I need anything but just the tranny to bolt it up?

5. Clutch was so fried it had to be pushed onto the trailer, are there any upgrades that anyone can suggest? Or a heavy duty option?

It was a blast to drive and shows that it really is a tough car.

I am now a converted AMC fan through and through!
