I first met and "Mr 500" my first year at Indy in 1967 and got his autograph on the Official program right next to Mario Andretti's. I spent some time talking with him in 1982-83 when Dad's Company "ServisStar" sponsored Chip Ganissi & Gordon Johncock along with STP. STP was a big player back in the day with Art Pollard ,Joe Leonard, Mario, Parnelli Jones & of course the Petty's. Andy was at the Thousand Oaks, CA Fathers day car show around 2005 and looked good although he spent a lot of time on his Hoveround scooter. He loved talking about those "Turbine cars".
Thanks for the memories Mr "G"

His book is a must read. It is out of print but our local library still had it on the shelf. The stories of the JADO assist rockets on his rocket cars was hilarious.
