Does anyone have a pic handy of the inside of a 68-70 amx/javelin auto console assembled?  I am reassembling the shift indicator and what I have doesn't look right.

Thanks

I know this is an old post, but am trying to re assemble my console.  According to this it looks like 7.537-1 (the shift indicator) can be removed from the light housing. Has anyone tried this?  Looks like those tabs could break off very easily.  Mine has some scratches on the lens that I would like to try and touch up (the black part).

Also, my slide does not have a red mark on it and isn't in the best of shape, so I am in the market for one of those.  Will probably post in the wanted section

I don't have a console but that diagram looks like a huge help. I was wondering is the indicator light supposed to stay on with the interior/dash or come on with rear turn signal/brake lamps only? Because the latter is happening with my 71.

It comes on with dash lights. It seems to be wired wrong if only works with brakes and turn signals.

I kind of figured that but so far it seems to work as a great diagnostic bulb for whenever I lose my rear lamps. What circuit would this be on if it was wired normal? The rest of the dash?

There is a connection tap from the wiring harness that is behind the center pod. The wire goes under the carpet and pops up at the shifter.

I think the connection for it is shown in the 3D drawing in the wiring diagram for the 70 model in the 71 TSM.

It is possible that the connection may have gone or spliced to the brake switch. It would be a far stretch to make it work that way without a splice.
