I'm spoiled.  I get all my fasteners from work.  Stainless everything.  All shapes and sizes.  And a great fab shop with lots of highly skilled fabricators.

you do need to be a bit careful. The stainless looks nice but is no match for a grade 8 fastener.

I'm in suburban Melbourne, Australia and have 3 suppliers within 5 miles that can supply those fasteners.
They can even supply whitworth stuff.

Might be time to get out the phone book and make a few calls.

Oh there are... Unfortunately most are a bit anal, so they don't deal with the public, well they do if you happen to call on a random lucky day and gets hold of a guy feeling less anal than usual... Or they do deal with public customers but only in huge amounts/boxes (intended for the industry)... Always a hassle...

Metric bolts in all possible shapes/qualities, no problem at all, lots of private dealers and specialists... Inch based bolts? = Hassle...

You've got to be careful using stainless bolts in suspension work. Even if they are the correct strength.   When you put to dissimiliar metals close together, the one higher on the rust scale becomes the sacrifice metal.    In other words the easily replaced bolt stays rust free, and the spindle, not so easily replaced , attracts all the rust.
