Ever wondered how to build an Aussie Hornet, well thanks to Jason (70 Hornet), now you know how they did it back in the day:

I have been told that the old Australian 1974 movie 'Peterson' with jack Thompson has some scenes in a Melbourne AMI/AMC dealership.

I saw "Petersen" recently; there is a scene in an AMI dealership. Hornets also popped up in episodes of local police dramas "Homicide" and "Division 4".

Victoria Police had a couple of Rambler Classics circa 1966 - got footage of one somewhere, will upload it to YouTube as soon as I find it. Meanwhile, here's a few pictures:

Scroll down until you get to "1966"...

And here's a link to some great shots of Ramblers in Oz:

Again, takes a bit of trolling through, but well worth the effort!

Also got a very brief (10 seconds!) Australian radio commercial for the "Rambler V8" from AMI - will link to that once I've uploaded it..

Look out for next issue of the Australian Muscle Car magazine (due out late July2014 issue75) with an article on Australian Hornet's and a very nice surviving, 1 family owned, original AMI built model Smile I have been given a sneak peak and it has an interview with Ben Ludlow from WA about THEM V8 Hornet's which will clear a lot of misinformation floating around about these cars once and for all. But be happy in knowing they DO exist Smile
