I have a 1966 Marlin with a 287 v8 2bbl , with tag number A6KA97T100611. I look this up and it looks wrong. Someone added the motor? The T gives it a 232 2bbl but only in 65/67 not 66, 1966 the code for T is blank, this is on the marlin atou club website.
Any help or thoughts..?

The info at this web site is incomplete! Engine info is missing like for 'X'-343 4-bbl 67 American, 'Q'-343 4-bbl 67 Ambassador to list just two omissions.
The 'T' for a 1966 Marlin V8 is for a 287 2-bbl. As per page 9 in the "Red, White & Blue Book" by Frank Swygert, copywrite 2007.

287, yes. High compression, no. There was no 287 high compression motor.

That's not quite what they said - they simply confirmed the differences between VIN letter and engine...... Wink
