iirc, read somewhere, think it was Car Craft article, that a TH400 in one of the gears
has one clutch pack drum rotating in the opposite direction than the other at an increased rpm ?

Put a stick in it and go faster.
My son's Gremlin is running 11.3s @ 118mph so you are leaving a lot on the table in the first half of the track. And I think you need more gear in the rear. You have tall tires, run 120mph, and have trouble out of the hole. Put more gear in it. Are those tire 27" ~ 28" tall? Of so, put in 4.56 or 4.71 gears. Screw the highway driving.

Kevin, what's the tranny and clutch setup in your boy's car?
yes, they are 275-60-15's, 28''tall, from what i can tell it goes threw the traps around 6000rpm's right now, right where it started to fall off HP wise on the dyno, should it be a higher RPM than that going threw the traps? ya, the extensive hiway driving is pretty much out the window as it is now, its not bad for a little while, 15-20 miles but much more than that and your pretty much deaf and vibrating all over |
