Thanks. You'ld think that by now, someone would have built an auto trans, with an interchangeable bellhousing.

If you look at premium trannies like the Aisin, they do have separate bell housings.
Otherwise tooling/machining costs aren't worth justifying.

i'll second that,go with the gear vendors OD.it is a bolt on unit that will fit that trans.all those other ideas are experimental at best and a friend uses a gear vendors OD on his stroked 460 1961 galaxy starliner drag car running in the high 9's/low 10's with no issues regarding strength of OD unit.he is using a custom made bellhousing to a GM th400 that we cut to fit the custom bellhousing-not a simple task.
