Did the 66 232 have a fan shroud attached to the radiator?  Mine didn't have one and I can't seem to find one on any of the dealer sites.

Thanks,
Tom

The parts book shows a stamped metal shroud used when the car had A/C or with heavy duty cooling.  That's for the American.  Joe

My '66 440 coupe was a 199 and didn't have one.  My '66 440 convertible is a 290 and doesn't have one either.  Neither came with AC.

I had a 69 American with a 232 and several fleet options, hd clutch, suspension, cooling, etc., it had the stamped steel fan shroud.

The 66 American 232 sw I have doesn't have a shroud,  but years ago one of the parts cars I had , a 66 also, had AC, and a shroud.

From what I have observed, non A/C cars had a 4 blade fan and no shroud, A/C cars had a 6 or 7 blade fan with a shroud.

The 1966 parts book makes the distinction about the shroud being used with A/C for with heavy duty cooling.  Two fans were offered, a 4 blade fan and a seven blade fan put there are no notes specifying when the seven blade fan would be used.   This is all for the American.  I'm just going by what the book says.  Joe

The V8 and I6 fan shrouds are different in that the engines hold the fans in a different location.  There also seem to be different I6 fan shrouds where the tabs bolt to the radiators.  I cleaned an I6 one up once and painted it nicely only to discover that the bolt holes didn't line up even though it was all I6 parts.  Yes I flipped it over and tried again too.

Does anyone have a good source for an American V8 fan shroud?
