All went very well, converter fully seated put in a quart of tranny fluid, had a jack under the transmission and slowly lowered it in lined up the dowels and the converter studs. Kept getting hung up on the motor mount studs but a few adjustments here and there and it dropped right in, torqed the bellhousing bolts and then the converter nuts, used loctite blue on the bellhousing and loctite red on the converter nuts.  Torqued the motor mount studs and now it is ready for all the accessories. All in all got very lucky putting it in, started at 9:30 and finished at 12:00 noon.  The most nerve racking part was installing the torque converter nuts, if you drop one in the bellhousingCensored but no problems there.  Needless to say I am really happy right now!!!

Here are some pics: 11" converter mocked up.

11" converter fully seated filled and lubed, it got pulled forward maybe a 1/4" after torqueing the bellhousing bolts and then tightening the converter nuts, seems like a well built torque converter.

343 set in engine bay just before aligning the crossmember and mounts and the transmission dowels and torque converter studs

WOW - congratulations! Sounds like you had your ducks in a row, took your time and did it right and all went well.
Yeah, you keep a magnet handy sometimes.

Ha, when I go to do engine swaps and installs in the Eagles, I'll have to give you a call! Talk about things to line up.....
