Seats are at the upholstery shop for my Sc/Rambler Clone project and are at a standstill. Rear seats , front seat bottoms and headrests are done, front seat covers stiched . Need any ideas on how to mount headrest slides into frames without using the 1969 factory headrestclips, which seem to be very scarce.
As far as I have been able to research, Ramblers up to 68 had a removable seat backs, so you could slide the post in, screw it to the frame, and put the seatback on. The 69's had "envelope" style covers without a removable back. So the clip attached to the headrest slide posts, the seat covers were installed, and then the headrest slide posts were installed and into a retaining wire "hoop"
So - anyone out there encounter the same problem or have any ideas? Thanks in Advance!
